Minnesota Man
When I was 18 years old
I went a-runnin’ from the cold
I had to get away from the same, from the same
From the same old, same old
I packed my bags and hit the road
But now I’m back and there’s something I got to say
I’m a Minnesota Man, that just what I am
No amount of running could take that out of me
So after years down in the South
It only makes me extra-proud
To say I’m a Minnesota Man
I’m not a native son
We moved here when I was one
A different state is where I was born, I was born
I was born in Illinois
I was my daddy’s pride and joy
Rambling in my blood but way deep down
Indiana’s been a second home to mе
And the Rocky Mountain air sure feels fine
I lovе Chicago and all its busy streets
But the Twin Cities are the ones that feel like mine
I’m a Minnesota Man, that just what I am
No amount of running could take that out of me
So after years down in the South
It only makes me extra-proud
To say I’m a Minnesota Man
