I walked out of the party, to the freshly fallen snow
All lit up like a motion light, making all my feelings show
A couple of miles to my parent's house, a couple of words to pass
A couple of trips up the attic stairs, laid down underneath a sky of fiberglass

I came to as the sun came up, dust dancing around my head
I could not face the questions waiting with the buttered bread
So I started sifting through boxes, school vacations and birthdays
When I found a still-sealed letter from 1992, the fifteenth day of May

And it said
"Angela, oh, Angela, I'm leaving"
Yeah, it said

The minutes could not find me, and the hours fell like rain
My mom came to the top of the stairs, said "Honey, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute", and I tore that thing to shreds
As my dad called up from the kitchen, "Hey Angela, I'm going out for a bit"

He said
