Raptor

The beach is darkening
The pa trees ache with rain
The hinterland lets out a rumble
From behind sneaks out a raptor
It almost turned me on
To see the blood mixed in the mud with the guts
And it kind of feels like
I’m being robbed in daylight
Coming home and taking my place
At the colosseum
You assume I’ll be there
You assume I’d do anything
You assume I’ll be there
You assume I’ll take everything
The deer is on the fire
My forehead targets on the wars, the starving and all of the waste
Now all around me I’m seeing raptors
My tears fall in the in their tracks
Got no reason to complain
Get up, get up
And it kind of feels like
I’m being conned from all side
When they ask me, do I mean it?
And I answer, I don’t know!
