Television

Kevin Bennett

Back in the day, I was doing the shows
I don't do shows anymore
2014 was a hell of a year
But partying to me got old
I used to get on the stage, drink underage
All of my tickets were sold
Taken advantage of by these promoters
And profiting off of my goals

Man, I was industry ignorant
Figured we'd get a little crew together
Then get a 2 dollars a ticket and split it
Never would save it, only would drink it
I think its a bit too ironic that we were blind but wrote about visions (Uh)
The mission was barely to make it with regional fame and local recognition

It's always felt like no one's ever listened
And every failure made us pessimistic
But then one day, they let us tell our vision
Angel hearted turned to devil living
It felt like we were on the television
It went to static, this antenna's trippin'
Felt like we were on the television
It went to black and people changed the station

Nothing but trial and error
Getting so high, not caring
Living at home with my parents
Johnny would get me a bottle of cinnamon whiskey for studio errands
By the time he would get out the Buick, half was gone, I guess we were sharing (Yeah)
Lost a lot of money, made a lot of moments
Got scammed a couple hundred on a show we tried to open
No joke, but we opened up a lot
This music opened me up a lot
Got hooked on woman and stimulants
Addicted to feeling like we was on top

Taking father's pharmaceuticals
Doing music interviews with 'em
I would sneak 'em out the cabinet
Grab an extra capsule 'cause I'm used to em
I was in the pink room with 'em
Idea's, we would blue print 'em
Sample tasted limelight, but the rap foiled like aluminum
I was learning a lot, smoking some pot
Edit a record while Nicky would watch
Talking to thots, multiple shots
Doing some shit that would piss off the cops
Giving us props, 808 drops
Bitches on Twitter removing their tops
Slumber party with a groupie n' doing the walk of shame right in front of my mom
We wanted the followers, but demon's would follow us
Nicky in pain because of his promises and the ones that his nana missed
Johnny was suffering, drowning in booze and screaming he's fatherless
Kevin was losing it from broken heartedness, relationship opposites (Yeah)

It's always felt like no one's ever listened
And every failure made us pessimistic
But then one day, they let us tell our vision
Angel hearted turned to devil living
Felt like we were on the television
It went to static, this antenna's trippin'
Felt like we were on the television
It went to black and people changed the station

If I knew what I knew now
I'd probably be talk of the town
The town was talking me down
We had a good run for miles
For some reason we never got tired
The Mack said I was Beyoncé
ET had a destiny child (Yeah)
Back in the day, I was doing the shows
I don't do shows anymore
Evident T went a couple of years, molded me to a performer
I used to get on the stage, spitting the flames right alongside of my bros
We say hello once in a while, as far as our vision, we said adios
