The Fire

There is a flame
A flame inside my body
It burns my belly and it sear my flesh
And when it crackled up into my mouth it crept
And you were the closest at the time
The first to step into the firing line

What kind of peace?
What peace it'll keeping
If peace is the expression that you've had for years?
The tangling of conscious and the salty tears
And I would rather see my fires burn
Then sit with solem face wait my turn

And I don't ask for your forgiveness
And all my reckless youth
But you would ask for explanation
But will not want the truth

We build a box
A box with hinges howling
I know you think that I should put my fear to bed
Or lock in the box until it's cold and dead
But you presume to know what I should do
I will not be stifled just for you

Oh, and I don't ask for your forgiveness
And all my reckless youth
But you would ask for explanation
But will not want the truth
But will not want the truth

Time, time, time will make a fool of you
Time, time, time will make a fool of you
Time, time, time will make a fool of you
Time, time, time will make a fool of you

Time, time, time will make a fool of you
Time, time, time will make a fool of you
Time, time, time will make a fool of you
Time, time, time will make a fool of you
