The Ice Skater’s Song - 1994
I'm going to give a little song now to start off, which is the most current one I've written. Of course, every Berlin won't roll in this grave, but this great song was a great song. I'm not trying to brag here. It's great for those who have two cents to throw. But I want to give this little number. It came to me in early February of this year
Lovers have love songs
Poets have prose
We all have happiness
We all have woes
The song is written
As all songs belong
This is the Ice Skater's song
Which I dedicate to Miss Tonya Harding
Though you are sighing
Though you are crying
And everything has gone wrong
The world is waiting
Keep right on skating
Skate to the Ice Skater's song
Why, though you are sighing
Though you are crying
And everything has gone wrong
The world is waiting
Keep right on skating
Skate to the Ice Skater's song
Hear the music
Hear the sound
They're waiting for the show
Your heart is breaking
Your heart is aching
But the skating must go on
Though you are sighing
Though you are crying
And everything has gone wrong
The world is waiting
Keep right on skating
Skate to the Ice Skater's song
The world is like an elevator ride as it leaves the ground
It smiles at you when you're going up, and leaves you when you're going down
Don't let them destroy you
Keep up that grin
Fight to the end and fight on to win
Carry a cross, take off that frown
Remember, remember
It's always a cross before the crown
Though you are sighing
Though you are crying
And everything has gone wrong
The crown is waiting
Keep right on skating
Skate to the ice skater's song
And everything has gone wrong
But Miss Harding, remember, haha
The crown is waiting
Keep right on skating
Skate to the ice skater's song
Yeah, but I hope she keeps on skating after this song
