Touch Of Grace
Behind the eyes lies something that I do not wish to see
A blackened heart emerging from the rubble and debris
The image of an Eden where the crows all line the trees
Waiting for the bodies slowly dropping to their knees
Jealousy and vengeance are such hollow faceless twins
But nothing much can stop them when you let the darkness in
Desecrate the light and let the rivers run with blood
Dancing on the corpses lying face down in the mud
Oh the light is fading faster by the day
Don't know about you but I've forgotten how to pray
All this endless talk has left my mind in such a state
I could use a touch of grace
The marble floors are burning as the inquisition starts
The teachings of the prophet never really got that far
Beauty is betrayed and left to fade just like a star
That once burned so bright but now is just the remnants of a scar
Expressionless and silent are the ones you hold so dear
As reason deigns to crumble and the skies they never clear
Dissect our broken bodies as we drink a poisoned cup
The night can last for ever for a soul that is corrupt
Oh the light is fading faster by the day
Don't know about you but I've forgotten how to pray
All this endless talk has left my mind in such a state
I could use a touch of grace
