I prayed a prayer last night to Heaven
It wasn't fancy, kinda plain
And I was feeling sad and lonely
Like I'd lost my greatest friend
And I had no one left to talk to
And my eyes were filled with tears
When I heard my Savior answer

He said, "My child, I will forgive you
You know that's why I bled and died
I know the struggles you've been facing

Talked it over with Jesus
And He explained it all so well
How He gave His life to save me
From the awful fires of hell
And I listened with amazement
As He spoke to me alone
And He assured of his promise
That He'd come back to take me home
