Roll The Credits

Part 1:
It’s the end of my coming of age movie
Now it’s time to roll the credits
Polaroid memories burn pinpricks of light
Into bittersweet lanterns, incandescent

Look out the window as the headlights blur
No one ever told me change was gonna hurt
Childhood is over, but you’re about to live
I wasn’t ready to roll the credits

It’s the end of my coming of age movie
And I’m still waiting for the round of applause
Bittersweet Black and white flashes of memory
As the text reminds me of evеrything I was

Look out the window as the headlights blur
No onе ever told me change was gonna hurt
Childhood is over, but you’re about to live
I wasn’t ready to roll the credits

I remember the incandescent glow
Of my every single muse
How when I was 15 I thought
Every path led back to you
I gave an oath
And broke a promise
Now I find comfort
In my solace
Is it still a movie
If nobody is watching?
If it’s not critically acclaimed
Is my Emmy worth the sobbing?

Look out the window as the headlights blur
No one ever told me change was gonna hurt
Childhood is over, but you’re about to live
I wasn’t ready to roll the credits

Part 2: Solipsism
I am null and void
My mind you destroyed
But are you even real?
Inside can you feel?
Are you just a hologram
A figment of my imagination?
Am I the only existing thing
Inside this nation?
They have a term for it
Solipsism
What if they made it up
In this sick form of parasitism
They want me self aware
That what I see isn’t really there
Or maybe I’m just crazy
There’s more in this world than me
