Tantum Ergo (In Memoriam—Edward Kennedy Ellington)
[Intro]
Alan Broadbent is very deeply indebted, as all of us, to probably the most important man that jazz has, and music has ever known from our country. Of course I'm speaking of Mr. Ellington. He has been a great influence on, on my musical life. And so I would like to try something that Mr. Broadbent has written for us and play it with as much reverence as we possibly can. It's from something that Alan remembers as a boy in, in his church. And this is of course in memoriam to Edward Kennedy Ellington: Tantum Ergo. Tantum Ergo.
[Verse]
