The Apparent Turbulence

You were the last young woman
To look at me that way when was it
Sometime between 9 11 and the tsunami
You looked at my belt
And then I looked down at my belt
You were right it wasn't bad
Then we resumed our lives
I don't know about yours
But mine is curiously peaceful
Behind the apparent turbulence
Of litigation and advancing age
