The Flying Tortoise

Magicbox

Once upon a time,
in the dense forests of Africa,
birds of different flocks, were gathered for a meeting.
There came a huge bird named Peppy,
flying down the clouds.
Friends,
today when I was flying through the sky,
I came across the cloud people,
who invited us for a huge feast,
up in the clouds.
Wow! That sounds yummy!
I have heard that they prepare the best dishes, ever.
We should give it a try!
A tortoise,
who was hearing the conversation of the birds
walked in the meeting.
Hi, I’m Odin, the tortoise.
Would you birds mind if I join the feast?
I’ve been starving for a while.
But,
the invitation clearly reads,
the feast is for the birds.
Oh!
If each of you can give me one of your feathers,
then I should be able to fly, too.
Well
worth a try!
How shall we introduce Odin to the cloud people,
he doesn’t look like any of us?
We can tell them that he’s our king named,
All Of You.
Sounds great!
Welcome birds, we’re glad that you
all are here.
Who’s this with you? He looks quite
different.
He is our king,
his name is All Of You.
Oh great!
We are pleased by your presence, your highness.
Please come in.
All of you are most welcome
to enjoy this feast
All Of You, that’s me.
Then, everything is for me.
Odin misunderstood the words of the
Cloud Man
and went on eating everything
and leaving nothing for the birds.
The birds got angry on seeing Odin’s act
and decided to teach him a lesson.
They took away all their feathers back and flew away,
leaving him behind,
in the clouds.
Crocky, will you please do me a favor?
I wish I would not, but tell me.
I’ll see to it.
Please ask my wife to pile
the softest grass on the tallest rock,
so that I can jump on it, from here.
Alrighty, then!
Your husband has asked you to build
a surface, out of rocks.
He wants to jump down on it, from the sky.
As per the words of Crocky the crow,
Odin’s wife built a surface out of rocks,
and the message was passed on to
Odin.
God, tell me that I’m not seeing what I’m seeing
Where is the grass?!!!
Odin understood,
that Crocky still wanted to teach him a lesson.
And, that’s how tortoises got bumps and dents,
on their shells.
Kids, what have you learned from the
story?
If the tortoise would not have forgotten the people who help him,
because of its greediness,
it would have lead a better life.
So, never forget a friend who helped you.
