The Fortune Teller

Magicbox

Far, far away,
beyond all sorts of countries,
seas, and rivers, there stood a splendid realm.
There lived a woodcutter named Arjun,
in a small hut,
with his discontent wife.
Sweetheart,
here is the money that I have earned today.
I can no longer tolerate with these rusted copper coins.
But, I am working hard everyday,
to earn this.
Don't give reasons!
Look at our neighbor,
her husband is a fortune teller,
and he brings gold coins, every day.
What can I do about that?
If only you become a fortune teller.
A fortune tell? No way I can do that.
I never mind.
You are going to the market as a fortune teller, tomorrow.
Just roll the dice and tell the people something good.
Simple as that!
Arjun tried hard to make his wife understand,
in vain.
The next day
he sold his axe and bought a dice.
He laid down a mat,
in a suitable place and sat down,
as a fortune tell.
Not so late, there came running,
the wife of one of the king's ministers.
Oh, great psychic!
I am the wife of the king's minister.
You must help me find my lost ring.
Your lost ring?
It was given to my husband, by the king.
The last time I remember seeing my ring was
before I took a bath today.
Arjun remained speechless,
without knowing what to do.
At that time, he noticed a hole in the dress of the lady
that bothered him a lot.
He said,
I, I see a hole.
What do you see?
A hole.
A hole.
Yes, yes, a hole.
The minister's wife remembered
and rushed back to her house,
and found that she has placed the ring in a hole on the wall.
She became so happy
and offered gold coins to Arjun.
How splendid it looks!
Somehow, God has helped us today.
I don't want to test his kindness tomorrow.
Don't be silly!
If you want your wife,
you better remain as a fortune teller.
Meanwhile, in the palace,
the king seemed to be worried about his
stolen crown.
Your highness,
no fortune tellers could predict your stolen crown.
Ground every one of them into the prison,
for I don't need them anymore.
If you let me, I shall bring a fortune teller
who helped find my wife's ring.
I hope he can help.
Alright! Alright!
The next day,
king's men brought Arjun to the court.
Greetings, your highness!
May I know the reason for which I am here?
You have to find my lost crown, by tomorrow.
But, your majesty...
No buts, or excuses.
The crown is my dignity, and you are my last hope.
If you fail, I will either cut your ears or slice your nose.
Now you shall leave.
Arjun got horrified on hearing the king.
With utmost fear, Arjun walked out of the court,
and he began to blabber in his native language,
saying 'eyes or nose'.
Kannna! Mooka!
Kannna! Mooka!
Kannna! Mooka!
Then suddenly,
Oh, great psychic! Forgive us for stealing the king's crown.
I'm Kanna, and he is Mooka. You have found us!
Please don't tell about this to the king,
we won't steal, anymore.
It's my order to you,
place the crown back to the palace,
and never return.
Your highness,
I was only able to find either your crown or the thieves,
using my magic arts.
So, I have chosen to find your crown and I have used all my magic arts to restore it.
And, I no longer have my magic arts with me.
The king became so happy on seeing the crown
and he offered Arjun, all sort of richness.
Kids, what have you learned from the story?
Though Arjuna got into trouble because of his wife’s greediness,
he was intelligent enough to save himself in the right time.
So, kids, remember, timely thinking always saves.
