Robot Lion and Grey Ghost
Once upon a time
Was a robot boy
Made out of plastic and wires
All broke and tired
On a Christmas Eve
His daddy came
Gave him the heart of a Lion
Then sparks went flying
All around the town
The neighbours swore
A strange new sound
A mechanical roar
A robot lion boy
Daddy loves you
Robot lion boy
Watching you play
Daddy loves you
Robot lion boy
Watching you play
And when you fall
I will call to you
As the years go by
Well Daddy's bones
Cracked and froze in the white wind cold
He turned into a grey grey ghost
And Lion Boy's long gone
Gone out the door
To shout and roar on the trading floor
And Grey Ghost's on his own
Daddy loves you
Robot lion boy
Calling you name
Daddy loves you
Robot lion boy
Calling your name
And when I fall
I will call to you
On a wild and windy night
Well Grey Ghost falls
And out he calls in the dark dark night
He is dying
"Who will help me now?"
When at the door
The strangest sound
A mechanical roar
A might lion's roar!
Lion loves you
Little Grey Ghost
Holding you now
Lion loves you
Little Grey Ghost
Holding you now
And when you die
I will lie with you
As I say goodbye to you
