The Other Side

Kristian Matsson

Need to see if theres a way to cross this forest with an arrow from my eye
And in my pockets I got holes so I can lose the things I treasure on the side
When I dive into the green I send an echo of my voice far around
I know that when it disappears I send a message to offend the well known ground

You said I might feel alone
You said I might lose my mind out there
Before I reach the other side

Well I need to see if theres a cloud behind the cloud I can see
But now the treetops seem so very damn amused I know they're hiding it from me
I throw a rock over the treetops just to see if I can hurt a living soul
But now the silence seems like thunder when it strikes me I might never reach my goal

You said I might feel alone
You said I might lose my mind out there
Before I reach the other side

And the cold night is so haunting when I know the bandits always can be near
Oh, I have heard they trim their moustache with a sword to show their sons there is no fear
Dont the moon look pretty lonesome as its shining on my trail through the trees
Oh, hell, I wonder if it shines into a bedroom where I dare to fall asleep

You said I might feel alone
You said I might lose my mind out there
Before I reach the other side

If you travel in this woods and find a message on the note in your hand
Then please don't ridicule my bones they once belonged to me to carry out a plan
And if you're from that other side could you pick up my skull and turn for your town
And could you put it somewhere high so I could see if I have stayed or turned around

You said I might feel alone
You said I might lose my bones out there
Before I reach the other side
